NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

December 2021

1 December 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

As Victoria continues to open, Luson will continue to maintain a cautious approach to keeping our vulnerable residents safe, particularly while community transmission of COVID-19 is high along with the new variant Omicron threat.

Each resident is permitted up to five visitors per day, including dependants.

Visitors must sign a declaration upon entry to state that they have not been in contact with a confirmed case in the past 7 days if fully vaccinated and if not a household contact, or the last 14 days if not fully vaccinated or if a household contact.

You must not visit Luson if you tested positive to COVID-19, a household contact, have COVID-19 symptoms, waiting for a COVID-19 test result, or if you are an overseas traveller or an international aircrew service worker who just arrived in Victoria.

You must wear a mask. It is strongly recommended that all visitors should be fully vaccinated.

Visitor arrangements:

  • Maximum of five visitors per day per resident for any reason.
  • No visitors are allowed in the communal areas.
  • Proof of vaccination rules apply to all family, friends and acquaintances who visit Luson. You are still required to have your temperature checked, sign the attestation and check in using the government’s QR code. Face masks must be worn at all times
  • Visits must occur in the resident’s room or outdoors – no communal areas as noted above.

·       Visiting hours are 9am – 5pm.

(Outside visiting hours please arrange with the General Manager and complete the paper-based sign in and attestation and QR code and entry).

·      Bookings are essential. Click on the following link:  https://luson.zipline.app

If you are not fully vaccinated and/or you refuse to show proof of vaccination:

  • You must undertake a rapid antigen test before you will be permitted inside the home. Please allow an extra 10-15 minutes for this. If the test is negative, you will be allowed to visit. If the test is positive, you will be refused entry and asked to undertake a PCR test. Evidence of a negative PCR test will be required.
  • Face masks and clear face shields must be worn at all times
  • Visits must occur in the resident’s room or outdoors – no communal areas.

COVID-19 vaccine booster program

Luson The Vue and Eden Park both have completed their first Booster vaccine clinics. Over 170 residents and staff have now had their booster shots, with the next clinics to occur in January. Once dates are confirmed with our Vaccination provider, we will send out the details.

Flexibility in visiting is important to us and if the above visitor arrangements do not allow you to visit your loved ones, please contact your General Manager to assist in arranging a suitable visiting time.

If you have any further questions, in relation to visitor access and/or the booster program, please feel free to contact your General Manager.

Yours sincerely,

Luson Management Team
