COVID-19 Update

March 2021

1 March 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

As you would be aware, the Premier has announced the return to COVID safe settings.

The updated COVIDSAFE Settings link can be found here.

Please note that as part of these settings, there are no limits on the purpose of visits, the number of visitors, or the length of the visit to care facilities.

The visitor screening process will continue as normal and all visitors must still wear face masks in the home unless they have a specified exemption.

Residents can attend external outings, however we do request that the COVIDSAFE settings are to be followed at all times.

To schedule a visit to Luson, please fill in your details via this link below.

The COVID-19 vaccination program has commenced in aged care facilities. The rollout is a highly complex logistical operation, both for the storage and handling of the temperature sensitive vaccines, availability of a skilled workforce and sensitive management of the needs of aged care residents and workers. The Government are continually reviewing processes to ensure efficient and safe practises are upheld, particularly for our most vulnerable.

The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) hosted their second COVID-19 vaccine webinar last Tuesday to discuss the consent process for the COVID-19 vaccination and how to facilitate supported decision making in the aged care setting. Watch the replay online.

Should you wish to discuss COVID-19 Vaccination further, we do encourage you to contact your home’s General Manager, who would be happy to assist. We are requesting that consent forms be completed at your earliest convenience so that we are ready when we are contacted for our vaccination dates.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

 Luson Management Team
